PTFA

There is a PTFA, to which all parents automatically belong, working for the benefit of both Infant and Junior Schools. The activities include social and fund-raising events, as well as educational evenings. You will be informed about meetings through the general letters from the headteacher, or from the PTFA.

A vital link for parents new to the school is the class rep., a parent who acts as a contact point for the class teacher, and also organises and distributes a list of addresses and ‘phone numbers of those parents willing for the information to be published.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP IN SCHOOL?

We can always use more help in school. We know that many parents have useful skills, such as creative writing, or in art, which can be shared with children. It may be that your child’s class is studying something you happen to know a lot about, perhaps through your job or your hobby. It may be that you would be willing to come and listen to children read aloud. If you would like to help, please talk to your child’s teacher, or to the headteacher.

CLUBS

Honeywell is fortunate in the number of lunch-time and after-school clubs which are run, mostly by enthusiastic teachers in their own time. At the time of writing, there are clubs for country dancing, chess, dance, drama, cricket, lacrosse, netball, rounders, singing and football. There are also French, Piano and Guitar clubs, organised by the PTFA, for which a financial contribution is required. You will hear about the available clubs in the newsletters sent out.
